The Drogheda Tattoo and Art Festival brings together skilled tattoo artists and piercers from near and far for a vibrant, family-friendly weekend of creativity and fun; alongside live entertainment and contests that showcase world-class tattoo art, an artisan market showcases handmade crafts and unique artworks while food and drink stalls tempt every palate, and a full programme of activities ensures there’s something to delight visitors of all ages.
-
Yes! Choose walk-in or appointment—artists take both based on availability. Enjoy spontaneous ink while browsing stalls or book ahead to secure a specific artist and time. Our local and visiting tattooists cover many styles; the friendly check-in team will match you, give wait estimates, and explain age, consent, and aftercare rules. Bring reference images or design with an artist on-site. Clean, professional studios in a safe, family-friendly setting.
-
Tattoos are strictly for adults: you must be 18 or over and provide valid photo ID to get inked at our festival.
Piercings are available to under-18s only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who provides photo ID and signs consent; the guardian must be present for the entire procedure.
For both tattoos and piercings we follow all health and safety regulations, reserve the right to refuse service if identification or consent is not satisfactory, and recommend discussing any medical conditions or allergies with the artist or piercer beforehand.
-
Tattoo cost varies by artist experience, studio reputation, design size/complexity, and location. Small flash pieces may have fixed modest rates; custom or large work is charged hourly or quoted, ranging from a short one‑hour fee to hundreds or thousands for detailed sleeves or full backs.
“How long is a piece of string?” — there’s no single answer: like tattoo price, it depends on what you need. You decide.
-
You can take your chances with walk-ins on the day — we’ll accommodate as many people as our schedule allows — or secure your spot by contacting your favourite attending artist directly to make a booking. If you have a specific design, size, placement or time in mind, booking ahead is the best way to ensure the artist can give your piece the attention it deserves; bring reference images and any notes on colour or style to your appointment. Remember to check the artist’s availability, arrive on time, and follow any pre-appointment care instructions they provide to make the session run smoothly.
